Challenges while studying abroad and how I overcome them

Sometimes it seems hard to believe that in less than a year I will receive my second bachelor’s degree, this time in Germany studying interior design. My first one was in journalism where I studied for 6 years and graduated from the Belarussian state university.

Very few people know how challenging and difficult studying abroad was at times — there were moments (and there still are at times unfortunately) when I just wanted to quit and get a fresh start BUT to give up midway is not the best solution and one takes the inner self to any new place for sure anways.

The only thing that needs to change is our mind, our inner attitude. Only when we take the responsibility for our thoughts, actions and words, when we stop to blame everyone for our own choices and start to be our own companion, teacher, advisor and just a good friend for ourselves , then life will present more and more flowers in the garden that is our life. It has nothing to do with external circumstances and difficulties.

This is hard to accept and even more difficult to act on but I believe it is really worth it.

Remember, what Neil Gaiman once said?

It’s like the people who believe they’ll be happy if they go and live somewhere else, but who learn it doesn’t work that way. Wherever you go, you take yourself with you. If you see what I mean.

So think about this little truth sometimes.
